PSA: That $85 automated crimper paid for itself in a month, and I'm never going back to hand tools
I bought a used DMC crimper off eBay for $85 back in March, mostly because my hands were cramping up after long harness sessions. Everyone at my shop told me it was a waste of money and that hand crimping is just part of the job. Well, I knocked out a full connector replacement on a King Air in about 40 minutes when it used to take me two hours. My thumb used to ache for a day after a big repin job, and that's just gone now. The tool locks each crimp to the same depth every single time, so my pull tests pass on the first try instead of the third. Anyone else here using power crimpers, or am I the odd one out?
