Question about brake caliper paint: spray can or brush kit?

I went with the brush-on kit for my Civic calipers instead of spray, mostly because I didn't want to tape off the whole wheel well in my dad's garage. It took 3 coats and about 4 hours, but it laid down way thicker than I expected and hasn't chipped after 8 months of daily driving. Did I waste my money skipping the spray, or does the brush kit hold up just as well long term?

Skip the two-part epoxy debate and just check if your kit came with a hardener.
