Unpopular opinion: I used to think a heat gun was overkill for removing decals until a buddy in the shop quoted his old boss saying 'time is money, but a burnt clear coat is a loss'.

Heating a stubborn vinyl stripe for just 30 seconds with my Milwaukee gun at a low setting let me peel it clean in one piece yesterday, saving me an hour of scraping and buffing I would have wasted before.

That Milwaukee gun is a beast, but low setting is still like 500 degrees. I keep mine moving constantly, never hold it in one spot for the full 30 seconds. Just a quick pass to warm it up.

500 degrees on low is just insane for a heat gun.
