Caught my HOA guy trying to trim my tree with a butter knife
Last Tuesday I was sipping coffee on my back deck in Decatur and saw a guy from the HOA literally sawing at a low-hanging oak branch with a butter knife from his lunch. I yelled out and he dropped it and said the branch was 'violating the 8-foot clearance rule.' I had to call the HOA manager who cussed him out on the phone while I just stood there laughing. Ended up getting a certified arborist out the next day for $150 to trim it proper. Has anyone else had their HOA try to pull something this ridiculous?

That sums up HOAs in a nutshell right there, they always find the most half assed way to do stuff instead of just asking or hiring someone who knows what they're doing.

Well, actually HOAs usually have to go with the cheapest bid, not always the best one.
