Stacking 100 photos of Jupiter revealed details my telescope never showed alone

Been shooting Jupiter for 2 months with my 8-inch dob. Single frames always looked mushy. Tried free software called Registax, stacked 100 frames from one night. Saw the Great Red Spot and cloud bands way sharper. Blew my mind. Anyone else try stacking vs single shots?

Heard a guy on a podcast say stacking is basically cheating the atmosphere, turning blurry moments into one clear shot. Your Registax result sounds like exactly what he meant, the software sorts the good frames from the garbage. Definitely makes me want to dump more time into my planetary shots instead of just blaming the seeing conditions.
