Am I the only one who finds it frustrating when photo stacking software eats up star details?
All those hours of capture just to get a smoothed-out blob.

What stacking method was he using? Sometimes the wrong one just smears everything.

My friend Dave up in Oregon stacked 100 exposures of the Milky Way core. The software just mashed all the fine points into a glowing mess, lol. He was fuming for days.
