Update: my uncle bet me $50 I couldn't wash a driveway with just a garden hose
Back in March my uncle Dave bet me 50 bucks that a plain garden hose could clean his concrete driveway as good as my surface cleaner. I laughed it off but took the deal, and after two hours of spraying I had mud streaks everywhere and he was standing there grinning with his arms crossed. He said "pressure is what breaks the dirt loose, water alone just moves it around" and honestly he was dead on. I ended up hooking up my 4000 psi rig and had it looking new in 40 minutes. So now I'm wondering, has anyone else had a cheap bet teach them something about their own trade?
That reminds me of a $20 bet I lost to my brother in law about ten years back. He swore his shop vac could pull a dent out of my truck fender with a pot of boiling water and we sat in his garage for an hour watching it barely move. Turned out the trick was the cold water you pour after, not the heat, which he conveniently left out until I paid up. Still bugs me to this day.
