TIL a 79 year old woman in line at the DMV taught me about license plate frames without saying a word
Waiting at the DMV in Mesa last Tuesday for 2 hours and 40 minutes, I sat next to a 79 year old woman named Doris who had a 1994 plate frame held together with baling wire. She caught me staring at it and said "my husband put that on in 1971, I'm not buying a new one for 12 bucks." Made me realize how much stuff we toss just because it looks worn out. What's the oldest thing you still use daily that everyone tells you to replace?
