My barber's 3 minute lecture changed how I tip, $5 vs $20 on a $30 cut
He told me last Tuesday that regulars who tip big get moved up the books during holidays, so I tested it by tipping $15 on a $30 cut and got a same-day slot this Saturday when they were booked out 2 weeks, has anyone else seen tips actually change service or is that just a hustle?

Wait, did he actually say that out loud or was it more of a hint? Because same thing happened to me with my guy last year. I usually toss him $10 on a $25 cut, but before the holidays I threw him $20 and suddenly I'm getting texts about last minute openings when he's usually slammed. Now I'm lowkey paranoid that I'm stuck tipping big forever or I'll lose my spot. It's definitely a hustle but honestly, if it gets me in the chair when I need it, I'm kinda cool with playing the game. Just feels weird that my haircut now comes with a loyalty program I didn't sign up for.
