Heard a doc say they found a 3,000 year old olive pit in a dig near Athens and it made me think about daily life back then

Isn't it kind of a stretch to connect an olive pit to daily life? That's just one tiny piece of trash from one meal... we don't know who dropped it or why. Daily life back then was probably way more about hard work and survival than snacks. Finding that pit tells us they had olives, but not much else about their real day to day struggles.

Totally, it's like finding a candy wrapper and trying to write a whole biography. That pit just says they ate an olive, not if they were happy or tired that day. We fill in way too many blanks with our own ideas.
