Why does nobody talk about the cost of those cheap climbing rope bags?

I bought a $40 one from a hardware store, and the stitching gave out after maybe six climbs, dumping my gear in the mud. That's a solid hour of my time wasted picking everything up, plus the cost of the bag. What's a brand that actually holds up?

Ugh, that is the WORST feeling. I learned the hard way too. That cheap stitching is never on the load-bearing seams, it's always the dumb side loops or the bottom panel. I've had great luck with the basic Metolius haul bag. It's not fancy, but the thing is a tank. The fabric is burly and the stitching is double or triple in all the key spots. Mine has survived years of being tossed in trunks and dragged over granite.

Wait, @river_fox18, YEARS of granite dragging? That's insane.
