Question about hand saws vs chainsaws for limbing dead oaks
Spent my Saturday limbing dead oaks on a job near Akron with a 20 inch chainsaw, and my forearms are wrecked today. My old mentor used a Silky hand saw for everything under 8 inches and always said the big saw stays on the ground. I switched to the chainsaw on everything for about 3 months to save time, but the cuts are sloppier and I spend more time on cleanup than I save. Anyone else go back to hand tools after years on a powerhead, or am I just getting old?
