Mentor at a Boise pruning workshop told me my saw chain was doing the work my hands should
Went to a Saturday workshop at the Idaho Botanical Garden about 5 months back and a retired climber named Gus watched me cut for two minutes. He said I was pushing the saw through the cut instead of letting it sit and bite on its own, and he had me shut it off and just feel where the chain caught. My cuts are cleaner now and I'm not fighting the saw nearly as much. Curious if anyone else has had a saw handling tip like that stick with them, or was I just late to the party?
