The $8 siphon pump beat my wet vac for good
I always drained washing machines with a shop vac, thought that was the only way. Last month a clogged drain line at a rental in Austin left me standing in soapy water, so I grabbed a cheap hand siphon pump from the hardware store. That thing pulled 10 gallons in like 2 minutes and I didn't have to haul the vac up three flights of stairs. Now I keep it in my truck for every washer job, way less cleanup. Has anyone else tried one for dishwashers too, or is that asking for trouble?

Wet vacs push water somewhere, siphons just need gravity and a downhill spot.
