Dropped $180 on a refrigerant scale and it paid for itself on one job
I finally bought a digital charging scale last month after years of guessing by pressure and temperature. Cost me $180 but I used it on a walk-in cooler in a restaurant over on 5th Street that had been running warm for weeks. Turned out the system was overcharged by about 2 pounds because someone before me just kept adding gas. Weighed in the exact charge and it pulled down to 38 degrees in under an hour. Customer was thrilled and gave me a $50 tip on top of the service call. Any of you running into more systems that have been overcharged by techs who skip the scale?
