Showerthought: My old plastic bin versus a proper ceramic crock for kitchen scraps.
Used a cheap plastic tub for months. It always smelled bad, even with a lid. Switched to a ceramic crock I found for $25 last month. The difference is huge, no smells at all now. Anyone else find a simple container swap made a big change?

Funny you should mention that. We used a plastic bowl on the counter for a long time. It always got this greasy film and held onto onion smells for days. Switched to a heavy glass one with a bamboo lid, just a basic model from a home store. The kitchen air is cleaner now and the whole thing feels more pleasant to deal with.

Totally get the switch from plastic. That greasy film is the worst. Honestly though, glass can hold onto onion smells too if it's not sealed tight. My glass jar for garlic powder still smells if I don't wipe the rim. The bamboo lid probably helps a ton with that. It's more about a good seal than the material sometimes.
