Spent 2 hours trying to date a vase before realizing the answer was on the bottom

I picked up this really cool green vase at a flea market outside Portland last weekend and wanted to figure out when it was made. Spent way too long looking up patterns and glass textures online before I thought to just flip it over and check the maker's mark. It was a Fenton piece from 1972, right there stamped on the bottom the whole time. Has anyone else wasted forever on research when the answer was staring you in the face?

Flip it over first next time, save yourself the headache.

1972 is barely vintage, you should have trusted your gut and researched deeper instead of settling for that sticker.
