I walked into a used bookstore in Seattle and found a whole shelf of anime forum zines from the 90s.

They were all these photocopied discussions about shows like Evangelion and Sailor Moon, with people arguing in pen in the margins. It made me think about how we used to have to wait for physical copies to get this kind of talk. Does anyone here still collect that kind of old fan stuff?

Ever find old fan club newsletters? I grabbed a box of X-Files ones at a garage sale. The theories people wrote out by hand are way more fun than online posts. That stuff feels like real history.

Finding that shelf is a real time capsule. @blair_williams69 is right about it feeling like real history. You see it with old mixtapes too, where someone's handwriting on the case tells a whole story the files don't. The physical stuff just holds more weight.
