Lost $150 on a wireless panel that kept dropping signal

I installed a Honeywell Lyric panel in a 2,000 square foot house last Tuesday and the sensors kept going offline every 20 minutes. Spent hours on the phone with tech support and they said it needed a repeater I didn't budget for. Has anyone else dealt with range issues on these newer wifi panels?

lol yeah that lyric panel is notorious for this. You'd think a $150 panel would have decent range but nope. I had the exact same issue with mine in a 1600 sq ft house last year. What nobody talks about is that the plastic casing on those panels actually blocks some of the signal, especially if you mount it near metal studs or a TV. I moved mine like 3 feet away from my router and it helped a ton, still had to add a repeater though. The real kicker? Honeywell's own tech support told me the panel works best in open concept houses, which is hilarious for a security system lol.
