A customer's spouse called my wire runs 'sloppy' and now I use a different path
Last month in a house over by the river, the husband watched me strap cables along the baseboard and said it looked like a toy train set. I was so annoyed I almost walked off, but then I looked at it fresh and yeah, it was cramped and lazy. Next job I ran everything through the attic drop and down a single conduit, took me an extra 40 minutes but the finish was clean as anything. That guy's offhand comment stuck with me more than any inspector's notes ever did. Anyone else get pushed to change their install style by a random customer's remark?
