The self-checkout at my grocery store in Dayton started spotting bruised apples and now I have questions
Last Tuesday I was bagging my stuff at the Kroger on Smithville Rd and noticed a little camera setup above the produce scale. The clerk said they rolled out a vision system about 6 weeks ago that flags damaged fruit before it gets weighed, and she swears shrink on produce dropped noticeably. I stood there for a minute just watching it reject a soft pear someone set down. It made me wonder how much of this stuff is already running quietly in stores without a sign or anything. Has anyone else run into these camera setups at their local store, and did anyone actually explain it to you?
