My uncle in Tacoma told me he doesn't trust AI chatbots for recipe scaling, and I get it now
My uncle Ray came over for dinner on Sunday and we got talking about how he uses AI now that he's cooking for one person instead of four. He said he tried asking a chatbot to cut his chili recipe in half and it gave him a weird amount of cumin, so now he just does the math on paper. That stuck with me because I've been leaning on AI tools for meal planning without ever checking if the numbers actually make sense. I pulled up three of my saved AI recipes later that night and two of them had salt amounts that looked way off for the serving size. So how do you all handle this? Do you double check the math on AI generated stuff or just trust it and adjust by taste?
