My boss pushed an AI review tool and it flagged our best code

Last month our CTO at Finley Analytics insisted we run every pull request through this new AI pattern detector he found on LinkedIn. He said it would catch subtle bugs, but instead it flagged a solid payment module as risky because it used a loop structure the AI hadn't seen. We spent 3 days rewriting clean code to satisfy the tool, and then the QA tests broke anyway. Now the team refuses to trust any AI output after that episode. Has anyone else had an AI tool that was more confident than correct? What do you use to sanity-check it?
