I read that a single AI training run can use as much power as 200 homes for a year
I was reading a blog post from a data center guy last week and he dropped that number on me. He said one big model training run can pull around 1,300 megawatt hours, and it took me a minute to even picture that. I've been messing with small models on my own PC, so this felt like a totally different world. Now I keep wondering if the little tools I use every day are quietly tied to that kind of power draw. Does anyone here know a good place to actually see these energy numbers instead of just hearing them secondhand?
