Mohonk Preserve
• Volunteers needed to help preserve the land while keeping it available for recreational use. Become part of our back-country patrol, mountain-bike patrol, trail maintenance crews, or join us as an interpretive guide and educator. 845-255-0919 ext. 241

Thomas Cole National Historic Site
218 Spring Street, Catskill
• Thomas Cole National Historic Site is currently seeking volunteers to conduct tours of the house and studio. We are also recruiting Art Trail guides for our exciting hiking program in the Catskill Mountains on the Hudson River School Art Trail. Volunteers  impart meaningful information about the life, relationships and works of the 19th-century artist Thomas Cole, founder of the Hudson River School approach to painting.

• The Rescue Squad is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit organization that provides our community with professional, pre-hospital emergency care. Volunteers needed as ambulance drivers, EMTs and paramedics. 845-255-1719 x46

Queens Galley Food Insecurity Resource Center
• Volunteer opportunities 7 days 7am-7pm in the soup kitchen, 4 hour shifts appreciated; gas stipend offered for 8 hour shifts.

• The Woodstock Rescue Squad provides 24-hour emergency medical service. Volunteers qualify under NYS legislation for tuition reimbursement for training to become certified EMTs.

Women's Health & Fitness Expo

Volunteers need at the Expo, before during, and after where thousands of women come to learn, unwind, ask questions & get all the tools they need for healthier living! Over 150 exhibits. 20+ free health screenings (osteoporosis, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, body fat, others). Informative seminars, workshops & demos. The Lisa Libraries
The Lisa Libraries donates books to underprivileged children. Donation sites include foster care agencies, homeless shelters and battered women's shelters.
Volunteers needed to assist in all aspects of preparing books for donation, including selecting books, packing boxes, entering data into computer.  Computer skills not necessary to volunteer.  Handicapped accessible, seniors welcome and appreciated. Volunteer days Tuesday thru Thursday.

Hudson Valley Long Term Care Ombudsman Program
Volunteers Needed in Ulster County to be a Voice for Long Term Care Residents and become certified Ombudsman. Our volunteers receive 36 hours of FREE training and become New York State Office for the Aging certified advocates. Volunteers spend between 2-4 hours per week in a local assigned long term care facility, working to protect the rights of residents. Ombudsman provide an ongoing presence in their facility to monitor care and conditions. 845-229-4680 ext. 104

Jewish Family Services

Nonprofit, nonsectarian agency concerned with the mental health of seniors. JFS is the only agency in the county who sends licensed mental health social workers to the home of our clients.  We are also running three Caregivers groups: in Kingston, New Paltz and Saugerties.  We have two other programs one for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and a mentoring program called Project Hope.  We are always in need of volunteers to drive seniors to appointments and visit and call the homebound.

• The HVYC, a chorus of children of all ethnic and economic backgrounds, needs volunteers to drive members (without access to transportation) to rehearsals and/or help work with children at rehearsals and concerts. 845-679-8172
